Premier League: Chelsea will consult residents and supporters on the expansion of Stamford Bridge

Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League) will consult its supporters, season ticket holders, staff and local residents with regards to the expansion project for Stamford Bridge (41,623 seats), announced the club on 16/06/2015. The club launched a feasibility study to explore different avenues for enlarging their ground in spring 2014.

Chelsea want to expand Stamford Bridge to increase its capacity from the current 41,623 seats, to 60,000, in particular to develop its matchday revenues, which were €84.9m in 2013-14, compared to €129.3m for Manchester United FC, according to the audit and consulting firm Deloitte. The expansion project would involve digging up the pitch of Stamford Bridge in order to add seats. "Technical solutions for stadium capacity expansion are being investigated initially," stated the club on 16/06/2015. The project is reportedly estimated at £500m (€692m), according to the British newspaper The Guardian on 16/06/2015.

• An exhibition will be held at the stadium to present the options to host the club in the future from 30/06 to 02/07/2015.
