Eagle Football Group takeover: “I will do whatever it takes to get this club back on track” (M. Kang)

"We are not here for the short term. To resolve the situation responsibly and sustainably, it will take several years, and we are committed to that. No, the objective is not to complete a financial transaction quickly. I am a businesswoman and I like to build, and you do not build something solid in just a few months. I think it would be irresponsible to say that I do not want to look at other sources of revenue or bring in new partners. I will do whatever it takes to get this club back on track," Michele Kang said on 26 June 2026.

The American executive made these comments three days after entering into a series of agreements (see below) with Eagle Football Holdings Bidco Limited (“Eagle Bidco”), Eagle Football Group (“EFG”) and Olympique Lyonnais’ (Ligue 1 McDonald’s) creditors relating to the acquisition of EFG by Olympe Bidco, Michele Kang’s acquisition vehicle, for $30m, together with a concurrent restructuring of EFG’s debt, on 23 June 2026.
