LFP/DNCG: wage bill and transfer fee restrictions for OM, Olympique Lyonnais takeover approved

"Restriction on the wage bill and transfer fees" was the decision taken under Article 11 of the DNCG Regulations with regard to Olympique de Marseille (Ligue 1 McDonald's) by the Professional Clubs Control Committee as part of its review of clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season, the Ligue de Football Professionnel announced on 26 June 2026.

The decision came three days after the LFP’s financial watchdog had initially issued a "decision suspended pending further information requested from the club" regarding OM.

It also comes nine days after the club was sanctioned by the first chamber of the UEFA Club Financial Control Body (CFCB) on 17 June 2026 with a suspended exclusion from UEFA club competitions for the next three seasons (2026-27, 2027-28 and 2028-29), a €6m fine and restrictions on its ability to register new players for the 2026-27 UEFA Europa League campaign.
