UEFA: €13m in fines for RC Strasbourg, €7.5m for Aston Villa and €6m for Juventus

Fines of €25m (including €12m suspended) for RC Strasbourg Alsace (Ligue 1 McDonald's), €22.5m (€15m suspended) for Aston Villa FC (Premier League) and €20m (€14m suspended) for Juventus FC (Serie A Enilive) are among the sanctions imposed by the First Chamber of UEFA’s Club Financial Control Body (CFCB), the European governing body announced on 30 June 2026.

Juventus FC and Newcastle United FC (Premier League), which was fined €10m (including €7m suspended), were sanctioned for breaching the football earnings rule in relation to the financial years ending in 2023, 2024 and 2025. The two clubs entered into settlement agreements with UEFA for a three-year period (covering the financial years ending in 2026, 2027 and 2028), at the end of which they must achieve the required target after meeting intermediate objectives, failing which the conditional sanctions may be enforced alongside sporting measures "ranging from stricter restrictions on the registration of new players to exclusion from the next UEFA club competition for which the club qualifies."
