2026 World Cup / beIN France: average audience up 81 % between the group stage and the knockout stage

beIN SPORTS France has posted "excellent performances" for its coverage of the 2026 World Cup, with average viewership up 81% between the group stage and the knockout phase, the pay-TV broadcaster announced on 8 July 2026.

France's Round of 16 victory over Paraguay (1-0, on 4 July at 23:00) drew an average of 580,000 viewers with a peak at 700,000 on beIN SPORTS 1. Les Bleus' 3-0 win over Sweden in the Round of 32 (on 30 June at 23:00) drew an average of 426,000 viewers with a peak of 542,000 on the pay-TV channel, according to data from Médiamétrie released by beIN SPORTS, which holds the rights to the tournament in France. Both matches were also broadcast free-to-air on M6.
