UEC: Romanian Ovidiu Costesin (Universitatea Craiova) elected president following Alex Muzio’s departure

Ovidiu Costesin, general director of Universitatea Craiova, the 2025-26 Romanian champions, has been elected president of the Union of European Clubs by the organisation’s executive board, UEC announced on 10 July 2026.

The Romanian succeeds Englishman Alex Muzio, president of Royale Union Saint-Gilloise (Jupiler Pro League), who decided to step down after leading the Union of European Clubs since April 2024.
