FIFPRO Europe: 17 members withdraw from the class action brought against FIFA by Justice for Players

17 professional football players’ unions that are members of FIFPRO Europe "withdraw their support for the class action brought by the Dutch foundation Justice for Players," the European branch of FIFPRO announced on 9 July 2026. These include the AIC and the UNFP.

This decision is justified by the "new environment" arising from the announcement on 10 June 2026 - one day before the start of the 2026 World Cup - of a "historic agreement ushering in a new era of global football governance in terms of cooperation and player representation" between FIFPRO and FIFA, running until 2031 (see "Further reading" section).
