Has Gianni Infantino, president of FIFA, "repeatedly breached IOC’s rules on political neutrality by offering his political support for US president, Donald Trump?" This is the claim made by the British NGO FairSquare, which is filing a complaint on these grounds with the International Olympic Committee, it announced on 14 July 2026 (document available for download).

"Gianni Infantino was elected to the International Olympic Committee on 10 January 2020, and is obliged to adhere to strict rules on political neutrality in the Olympic Charter and the IOC Code of Ethics. Upon admission to the IOC, Infantino took an oath to “respect the Olympic Charter” and to “fully comply with the IOC Code of Ethics”, and the IOC can expel members who do not fulfill these obligations," FairSquare wrote…
