Premier League: Chinese betting operator 12bet becomes a partner of Swansea City for 2015-16

12bet, a Chinese betting operator, has becomes an official partner of Swansea City AFC (Barclays Premier League) for the 2015-16 season, announced the club on 16/06/2015.

12bet will principally receive visibility on the LED advertising boards during the home games of the Welsh club, and a presence on its website and social media accounts. 12bet was the shirt sponsor of Hull City AFC (relegated to the Championship for 2015-16) during the 2014-15 season. Swansea City AFC is also linked to British bookmaker William Hill for the 2015-16 season.

  • The Gambling Commission introduced a license for foreign operators of online gaming in England, as of 01/08/2014.
  • To obtain this license, foreign operators are required to be stakeholders in the UK market for online gaming, otherwise the operators can not be present on advertising boards and the shirts of clubs in England.
  • 12bet was the sole advertising board sponsor at Selhurst Park, the home of Crystal Palace FC (Barclays Premier League) during the 2013-14 season.
