England: the English FA publishes a Ramadan factsheet for clubs, leagues and players

The English FA has published a factsheet for English clubs, leagues and players, for the month of Ramadan (month of fasting in Islam), which began on 18/06/2015 in most countries in the world, including the UK.

"Every year, millions of Muslims around the world fast during the holy month of Ramadan. This factsheet will help explain what this means in the football world," said the English association. The FA also published a factsheet in 2014.

  • "It is always important to take note of any important religious dates when planning fixtures. Ideally, if a team has a significant number of Muslim players it is best practice to try and avoid arranging fixtures during Ramadan," said the FA in the factsheet.
