Deutsche Telekom has acquired the exclusive broadcasting rights to the 2030 World Cup in Germany, the telecoms operator announced on 20 July 2026.

All matches will be broadcast on the MagentaTV platform. Deutsche Telekom, which already held the broadcasting rights to the entire 2026 World Cup for the same platform, reached "more than 200 million viewers and acquired significantly more customers than expected" during its coverage of the tournament won by Spain, according to Rodrigo Diehl, a member of Deutsche Telekom's management board responsible for its German operations.

For the 2026 edition, the operator had also sub-licensed the free-to-air TV rights to 60 matches to German public broadcasters ARD and ZDF, including Germany's fixtures, the opening match, the semi-finals, and the final…
