LALIGA - CVC partnership: "We still have around €500m to distribute to the clubs" (Jaime Blanco, LALIGA)

"All payments from CVC to LALIGA have been made, but we still have around €500m to distribute to the clubs," Jaime Blanco, director of the Clubs Office at LALIGA, said to News Tank on 1 July 2026.

The Spanish executive provided an update on the economic development program stemming from the agreement between LALIGA and its clubs (excluding Athletic Club Bilbao, FC Barcelona, and Real Madrid CF) and investment fund CVC Capital Partners. LaLiga Group International, the holding company responsible for implementing the program, was officially established on 1 february 2022. CVC holds an 8.2% stake in the company for a 50-year term, following a total investment of over €1.9bn in Spanish professional football, disbursed gradually up to 2024.
