Italian Football Federation (FIGC) president Giovanni Malago "informed the Federal Council of the discussions he has held with Andrea Abodi, Italy's Minister for Sports and Youth, on all major issues affecting Italian football, announcing that he has invited the minister to attend the next Federal Council meeting scheduled for 17 September 2026," the FIGC said following a Federal Council meeting on 28 July 2026.
