Germany’s 36 professional football clubs (18 in the Bundesliga and 18 in the 2.Bundesliga) sold a record total of 21.4 million tickets in 2025-26 (an average of 594,444 per club), announced the Bundesliga on 30 July 2026. The previous record had been set in 2024-25, with 20.9 million tickets sold, an average of 580,000 per club.

The 2025-26 season in Germany’s top two divisions recorded an average attendance of 34,974 spectators per match, surpassing the previous record of 34,288 set in 2024-25 by 2%.

Of the 21.4 million tickets sold in 2025-26, 12.7 million (59.4%) were sold by the top-flight clubs (an average of 700,555 per club), whose matches attracted an average of 41,562 paying spectators. This figure remains below the record set in 2018-19, when an average of 42,738 tickets were…
