FIFPRO: Alex Phillips, secretary general since November 2024, steps down

Alex Phillips, who has served as FIFPRO secretary general since November 2024, "has announced his departure from the organisation," the global players’ union announced on 3 August 2026.

"Since his appointment in November 2024, Alex has played an important role in implementing the reforms approved by FIFPRO’s member unions following the organisation’s governance review. Working closely with the Board, member unions and staff, he helped strengthen FIFPRO’s structures, executive management and operational framework during an important period of organisational development," the union said.
