Paris Saint-Germain: academy to open in Astana, the first in Kazakhstan

Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 McDonald's) will open an academy in Astana, its first in Kazakhstan, in September 2026, the club announced on 4 August 2026.

The academy will welcome up to 300 boys and girls aged 6 to 14 during its inaugural season "at Air Arena, a modern indoor sports complex featuring a FIFA-standard pitch that enables year-round training regardless of weather conditions." Kazakhstan thus becomes the 24th country to join the Parisian club’s global academy network.

The academy will be led by Almaz Alsenov, a Kazakh entrepreneur, former professional judoka, founder of Harvest Group (agricultural trading), and adviser to the president of the International Judo Federation (IJF) since 2023.
