Formula 1: revenue down 15% in the first half of 2026 due to fewer Grands Prix (8 vs 11)

Formula One Group, the commercial rights holder and promoter of the FIA Formula One World Championship, generated revenue of $1.381bn (€1.21bn) in the first half of 2026 (01 January to 30 June 2026), down 15% compared with the first six months of 2025 ($1.629bn / €1.39bn), Liberty Media, the US-based owner of Formula 1, announced on 6 August 2026. Operating income totalled $180m (€157.7m), down 32% year-on-year ($265m / €226m).

The declines are mainly attributable to the staging of three fewer Grands Prix (8 in total) than during the same period in 2025 (11). The Saudi Arabian and Bahrain Grands Prix were not held in April due to the conflict in the Middle East, while the Emilia-Romagna Grand Prix at Imola (ITA), which featured on the 2025 calendar, was replaced in 2026 by the Madrid…
