DFB: standing areas reintroduced at stadiums for men’s, women’s and U21 international matches

The Deutscher Fussball Bund has decided to reintroduce standing areas for home matches involving the German men's, women's and U21 national teams "for the first time in more than 25 years", the body announced on 11 August 2026. The first two matches to offer standing areas will be those of the men's national team against Greece (on 27 September in Augsburg) and Serbia (on 1 October in Munich) in the Nations League, with a flat-rate ticket price of €18 (€15 for members of official supporters' clubs) in the designated sections.

The DFB thus seeks to "further promote the development of a vibrant and diverse supporters' culture around the national teams", and recalls that "standing sections have been a defining component of German football for decades."
