US Lecce: resignation of Sandro Mencucci, the club’s CEO since May 2022

The board of directors of US Lecce (Serie A Enilive) has accepted Sandro Mencucci’s resignation, the club announced on 10 August 2026.

Sandro Mencucci joined the club in May 2022 as CEO, having held the same position at ACF Fiorentina (Serie A Enilive) from October 2002 to June 2019, before moving to Leeds United FC (Premier League) in July 2019. He had announced his departure from the Apulian club a few days earlier. This decision has been described as unexpected by the Italian media, who nevertheless explain that tensions had been simmering within the club for several weeks.
