2026 World Cup: 255 million players reached by "largest digital football activation in FIFA’s history"

FIFA rolled out its largest-ever "digital football activation" to mark the 2026 World Cup, with "over 225 million players having engaged across FIFA-branded games, activations and digital experiences," the international federation announced on 10 August 2026.

On average, 11 million unique players took part in the various experiences offered by FIFA each day. Gaming was one of the three main drivers of fan engagement on digital platforms during the competition, alongside live match coverage and content dedicated to the World Cup.
