With a turnover of €837m for the 2024-25 financial year, Paris Saint-Germain (Ligue 1 McDonald's) generated 47% more revenue (excluding transfer fees) than Aston Villa FC (Premier League, €442.4m), as the two clubs face each other in the 2026 UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday 12 August 2026 (kick-off at 21:00 CET) at the Red Bull Arena in Salzburg (Austria).

In 2024-25, the French club’s wage bill amounted to €535m, almost twice that of its opponent, which stood at €278.3m. At the end of the season, which saw Paris Saint-Germain win the UEFA Champions League, the club posted a net loss of €40.1m, compared with a profit of €19.9m for the Birmingham-based club.
