Germany: partnership between Bayern Munich and the NHL, four games to be staged in Munich and Cologne

FC Bayern Munich (Bundesliga) has entered into a multi-year partnership with the National Hockey League (NHL), "aimed at supporting the development of the NHL in Germany as well as that of FC Bayern in North America," the club announced on 20 August 2026.

Unveiled at a press conference attended by Bayern Munich footballer Alphonso Davies and German NHL players John-Jason Peterka (Boston Bruins) and Leon Draisaitl (Edmonton Oilers), the collaboration "aims to create a platform for cross-sport collaboration, community engagement, youth outreach and content development," the 2025-26 German champions said.

On the occasion, the NHL announced that Munich and Cologne, the respective hometowns of John-Jason Peterka and Leon Draisaitl, will host four NHL regular-season games during the 2027-28…
