Matchday 1 of the 2026-27 Premier League season drew an average attendance of 38,646 spectators per game, from Friday 21 to Monday 24 August 2026. The average stadium fill rate was 99.2%.

Manchester City FC - AFC Bournemouth (2-1), on Sunday 23 August (kick-off at 15:00 CET), was the match that posted the highest attendance, with 60,645 spectators at the Etihad Stadium, whose capacity was increased from 53,480 to 61,000 ahead of the 2026-27 season, representing a 99.4% fill rate. Three other fixtures were attended by more than 50,000 spectators.

The English top flight recorded an average attendance of 45,267 spectators per game on Matchday 1 of the 2025-26 season, with an average stadium fill rate of 97.7%.
