Euroleague / franchise allocation: 11 candidates shortlisted and almost €700m in binding offers

Eleven applications have been shortlisted following the first phase of the franchise allocation process launched by Euroleague Basketball in July 2026, the European basketball organisation announced on 25 August 2026.

All eleven shortlisted candidates are submitting "binding offers close to €700m, representing an aggregate investment of more than €3.2bn over the next five years (2027-32)," Chus Bueno, CEO of Euroleague Basketball, said. The total investment now expected therefore exceeds the "more than €1.2bn in potential investment" announced by Euroleague Basketball when it officially launched the process on 7 July 2026.
