Borussia Dortmund: construction begins on future medical centre, which will be open to the public

Construction work has begun on Borussia Dortmund’s (Bundesliga) future medical centre on a 7,400 m² site in the Dortmund-Brackel district, in the east of the city, the club announced on 26 August 2026.

The future facility, called “BVB-Gesundheitswelt” (BVB Health World), is located near BVB’s training ground and will have 4,270 m² of usable floor space. Construction is due to be completed in the first half of 2028.

Developed in collaboration with University Medicine Essen, the centre "will offer comprehensive, high-level services in diagnostics, prediction, prevention, acute treatment and rehabilitation. A particular focus will be placed on combining sports medicine and artificial intelligence."

The centre will provide medical care for Borussia Dortmund’s players and will also be open to people from Dortmund and the surrounding region.
