Media: "UEFA’s European club competitions are a major priority for Canal+" (Thomas Sénécal)

"UEFA’s European club competitions (Champions League, Europa League and Conference League) are a major challenge for the Canal+ Group. Every match has to be commentated on. It is an editorial and production challenge. It is also hugely important in terms of audiences," Thomas Sénécal, director of sports for Canal+, said during the group’s sports season launch press conference on 2 September 2026.

The Canal+ Group, which broadcasts all three European club competitions exclusively in France, has extended its rights for the next cycle (2027-2031). It has also taken the opportunity to acquire or renew these rights in several international markets for the same period (see below).
