European Leagues: European Commission complaint against FIFA extended to women’s football

European Leagues has extended the scope of its complaint to the Directorate-General for Competition of the European Commission concerning the international match calendar "to include FIFA’s abusive conduct regarding the women’s international match calendar and related women’s football regulatory decisions," the association of European leagues announced on 8 September 2026.

European Leagues, together with FIFPRO Europe and LALIGA, which has since rejoined the association of leagues, had filed a complaint with the European Commission against FIFA on 14 October 2024 "for its conduct concerning the imposition of the International Match Calendar, including decisions relating to the FIFA Club World Cup."
