Formula 1: a Red Bull F1 car rides the rails of the Madrid metro ahead of the Spanish Grand Prix

Oracle Red Bull Racing drove the RB8, the car used during the 2012 Formula 1 World Championship, on the rails of the Madrid metro ahead of the 2026 Spanish Grand Prix (Friday 11 to Sunday 13 September 2026), on 8 September 2026. The activation was part of the "Red Bull On Rails" campaign.

The Oracle Red Bull Racing Heritage Team, together with Spanish engineering and creative collective Andtonic, designed bespoke metal wheels for the car, which travelled several kilometres on Madrid’s metro network, temporarily closed for the occasion. Former F1 driver Patrick Friesacher took the wheel of the RB8 to travel through several stations, including the one that will serve the new “MadRing” circuit during the Grand Prix.
