Valencia CF: Ron Gourlay removed from his role as CEO of Football

Ron Gourlay has been removed from his role as CEO of Football at Valencia CF (LALIGA EA Sports), the club announced on 13 September 2026.

The British executive, who joined the club on 30 May 2025, has had his contract terminated, as have several members of his team responsible for the sporting and recruitment departments. The club have also terminated the contract of first-team head coach Carlos Corberán.

"This decision is part of the club’s intention to begin a new chapter in its sporting structure and the management of its football department," the Valencia-based club said. Valencia CF are 20^th and bottom of the 2026-27 Spanish top flight after five matchdays (one draw and four defeats).
