Serie A: Udinese first club to apply the UEFA sustainability manual to a football match

Udinese Calcio will become "the first club to use the UEFA Football Event Sustainability Manual" for their home fixture against Cagliari Calcio on Matchday 5 of the 2026-27 Serie A Enilive season on Saturday 19 September, the club announced on 11 September 2026.

The initiative will take the form of the “Play for Sustainability - Tutti in campo per il pianeta” (Play for Sustainability - Everyone on the pitch for the planet) event, which will become an annual fixture.

"The aim is to use matchdays as a platform to test, measure and improve sustainability practices," the club said during a conference held at the 25,132-capacity Bluenergy Stadium, which opened in January 2016.
