Media / US: Netflix, YouTube and Amazon form a coalition in support of sports streaming

Netflix and YouTube (Google), as well as the Amazon group (owner of Prime Video) have joinined forces to create the "Streaming Access and Choice Alliance" (SACA) in the United States, TechNet, a technology-focused group that will also lead the coalition, announced on 14 September 2026.

"We support policies that allow streaming platforms to continue investing in all types of programming, including live sports. We support an environment that enables sports leagues and rights holders to pursue distribution partnerships that deliver consumer value," the newly formed coalition said on its website. Sports content on major global subscription streaming services has increased by 52 % since January 2024, according to the alliance.
