Belgium: Bruno Venanzi new owner and chairman of Standard Liège, acquired from Roland Duchâtelet

The Belgian businessman Bruno Venanzi has become the new owner and president of Royal Standard de Liège (Jupiler Pro League), after acquiring the 99.9% of the club's shares held by his compatriot Roland Duchâtelet on 23/06/2015.

"My childhood dream was to play for Standard, but here I rather realise my dream of becoming an adult club president," said Bruno Venanzi, co-founder and CEO of Lampiris, a Belgian company specialising in the supply of electricity and natural gas, on 23/06/2015.

Bruno Venanzi has served as vice president of Standard Liège since November 2014. The transaction amount of the takeover was not disclosed.

• Standard Liège finished 4^th (with 40 points) in the Jupiler Pro League in 2014-15.
• Roland Duchâtelet owned Standard Liege since 2011.
