Germany: spin-off of Women’s Bundesliga approved at extraordinary DFB congress

The extraordinary DFB congress called by the executive committee of the Deutscher Fussball Bund (DFB) unanimously approved the statutory amendments required for the spin-off of the German women’s league and the contractual framework allowing its transfer to Frauen-Bundesliga FBL eV, the association bringing together the 14 Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga clubs, the DFB announced on 18 September 2026.

The Google Pixel Frauen-Bundesliga will no longer be organised by the DFB but by the new women’s league from the 2027-28 season, following a transitional campaign in 2026-27, until 30 June 2034.
