FIFA: two mini-pitches open in the West Bank, co-financed by the Swiss government

FIFA have opened two mini-pitches in the West Bank, in the villages of Marah Rabah, south of Bethlehem, and Qusin, in the northern West Bank, world football's governing body announced on 22 September 2026.

"Their roll-out comes at a particularly difficult time for communities across the West Bank, where restrictions have disrupted everyday life and limited access to schools, services, sports and other activities," FIFA said. On 13 August 2026, the UN Human Rights Office said that settler encroachments and attacks on Palestinian homes in the West Bank were "beyond a boiling point."

The pitches are hosting the Unite for Peace: Kids' Cup until 25 September 2026, the date of their formal inauguration, with 14 local teams and up to 160 children taking part. The tournament is being held…
