FIFA: Bundesliga, LALIGA, Serie A and Premier League call for governance reform

Four of the five European Top 5 leagues (Bundesliga, LALIGA, Lega Serie A and Premier League) are calling for FIFA governance reform in a joint statement issued on 25 September 2026. The Ligue de Football Professionnel has not commented to date.

The position follows the project to create FIFA Forward Enterprise, initiated by FIFA president Gianni Infantino on 28 July 2026. The subsidiary was intended to bring together FIFA’s commercial and event activities and would have been majority-owned by the world governing body, while being open to private investors.
