UEFA: record €10bn spent by European clubs in 2026 summer transfer window (+8%)

European clubs spent a record €10bn during the 2026 summer transfer window, an 8% increase on 2025 (€9.3bn) and a 43% increase on 2019 (€7bn), UEFA announced on the publication of the 2026 edition of its report "The European Club Talent and Competition Landscape", on 25 September 2026.

Key transfer figures from the report include:
• an average of €24m spent by Premier League clubs per transfer in 2026;
• England accounted for 60% of global domestic transfer activity by value, making its domestic market the largest of all other markets combined;
• the number of transactions rose by 0.3%, but transfers above €50m went from 23 in 2025 to 35 in 2026.
