FC Schalke 04: Matthias Tillmann's contract as CEO extended early

The supervisory board of FC Schalke 04, promoted to the Bundesliga for the 2026-27 season, unanimously decided to extend Matthias Tillmann's contract as CEO early, the club announced on 25 September 2026.

The German has held the position since 1 January 2024 and forms the club's executive board with Christina Rühl-Hamers and Frank Baumann. While the length of his new term was not disclosed, his contract was originally due to run until 2027.

"Key figures have developed positively during his time in office. FC Schalke 04 now have almost 230,000 members, the number of partners has almost doubled and the number of season tickets in the hospitality areas has risen by 50%. Revenues are developing positively as a result," the club said.
