Aston Villa FC: Thomas Bonser (ex-Fulham FC) appointed finance director

Thomas Bonser has been appointed finance director at Aston Villa FC (Premier League), he announced on LinkedIn on 29 September 2026.

The Englishman joins the Birmingham club after spending eight months as chief financial officer at Fulham FC (January-August 2026). He previously held the same position at Nottingham Forest (2022-2026) and was finance director at Wasps Rugby (English top flight, 2019-2021), before the club went into administration.

Aston Villa posted a turnover of £378m (€442.4m) for the financial year 2025, compared with £275.7m (€325.3m) in 2024 (over 13 months, from 1 June 2023 to 30 June 2024), according to the club’s financial results published on 12 April 2026.
