"For BVB, 50+1 has always been more than just a rule. It is a very important unique selling proposition of German football and German football culture. We are committed to the idea that football belongs to the people, fans and to the members, so we are very happy - but also not surprised that we received such a clear commitment from the Bundeskartellamt," Carsten Cramer, CEO of Borussia Dortmund (Bundesliga), told News Tank on 30 September 2026.

Cramer, who was also promoted to chairman of the club’s executive board two days earlier, was reacting to the German competition authority’s final decision of 12 August 2026 on the 50+1 rule, which found it compatible with competition law.
