Euro 2016: 4.5 million ticket applications, over 1 million for the opening match and for the final

Euro 2016 "has seen a large national and international interest, with nearly 4.5 million tickets applications from France and 192 other countries," stated EURO 2016 SAS, the organiser of the competition, on 26/06/2016, 16 days after the launch of the sales phase of one million tickets for the general public.

"Fans have already shown their interest in the opening match and the final with more than 1 million applications," added EURO 2016 SAS, which stated that "the ticket sales phase for the general public will end on 10/07/2015 at 20:16 (a reference to 2016, the year of the competition). Tickets are on sale on the internet via a single address: EURO2016.fr."
