UEFA: the new Financial Fair Play regulations for 2015-2018 approved by the Executive Committee

"UEFA’s Executive Committee has approved the 2015-18 UEFA Club Licensing and Financial Fair Play Regulations at its meeting in Prague (CZE)", announced the European body on 30/06/2015.

"These updated regulations will encourage more growth and development, inclusivity and market stimulation through a careful broadening and refinement of the requirements, taking into consideration the economic environment and the experience gained over the last five years," said UEFA in its press release on 30/06/2015.

The new regulations, prepared in collaboration with the ECA, come into force on 01/07/2015. Among the easing of a system, which has been criticised for mainly "freezing" into place the current hierarchy of European "super clubs", is the possibility of exceeding the deficit ceiling of €30m for 2015-16, however conditional as part of a four-year plan based on a "serious prediction of revenue increase".
