Serie A: Atalanta BC announce a €3.7m plan to renovate the main stand of its stadium

Atalanta BC (Serie A TIM) have a €3.7m plan to renovate the main stand of the Stadio Atleti Azzurri d'Italia, announced the club on 30/06/2015. €2.2m will be provided by the club and €1.5m by the City of Bergamo (ITA).

The renovation, which should reduce the stadium capacity by 2,000 seats (from 24,000 to 22,000), will include the installation of new, more comfortable seats, and the recasting of the upper and lower parts of the stand to bring them closer to the pitch. The project also includes the construction of boxes and a new press area. The work, which aim to develop the club's hospitality revenue, should be completed by 23/08/2015, announced Atalanta.

The city council of Bergamo announced, during the presentation, the extension of the rental lease for the stadium with the club for four seasons (2015-16 to 2018-19) for an annual amount of €440,000. The club AlbinoLeffe (relegated to the Serie D for 2015-16, the Italian fourth division) will also be moving into the stadium.
