UEFA: MasterCard remains a partner of the Champions League until 2017-18

MasterCard, the American electronic payment company, has extended its partnership with UEFA for the 2015-2018 period for the Champions League, announced the company on 01/07/2015. This company has been a partner of the competition since 1994.

The agreement also includes the sponsorship of the UEFA Super Cup, the Women's Champions League and the Youth League. MasterCard will continue to activate the partnership with the "Priceless Suprises" initiative. The company will also continue the "Players Mascots" initiative, which allows 22 European children -- aged 7 to 9 -- to accompany players on to the pitch at the final of the Champions League.

UEFA generated €328.5m in commercial revenues in 2013-14. The Champions League represents 82.5% of these revenues. Each partnership with this event is estimated at between €30m and €40m per year.
