Chelsea FC (Barclays Premier League) have unveiled their plans for the project to expand the capacity of Stamford Bridge (41,623 seats) to 60,000 seats, at an exhibition organised at the stadium to present the different possibilites for expansion, on 30/06/2015. The club wants to consult supporters, season ticket holders, staff and residents. The exhibition ends on 02/07/2015.

Chelsea want to expand Stamford Bridge to increase its capacity from the current 41,623 seats, to 60,000, in particular to develop its matchday revenues, which were €84.9m in 2013-14, compared to €129.3m for Manchester United FC, according to the audit and consulting firm Deloitte. The expansion project would involve digging up the pitch of Stamford Bridge in order to add seats.

The project is estimated at £500m (€692m), according to the British newspaper The Guardian on 16/06/2015.
