FC Barcelona: Telefónica to operate Barça TV for four years from 01/07/2015

"From 01/07/2015 at 12:00 CET the contract through which FC Barcelona cede the running of the club’s official channel Barça TV to Telefónica for the next four seasons comes into force. The agreement sees the club maintain the channel’s official status and editorial control over its content," announced FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA), on 30/06/2015.

FC Barcelona awarded the domestic audovisual rights to its home games in the 2015-16 Liga BBVA to Telefónica de Contenidos SA, the company in charge of the pay-TV activities of the Spanish telecom group Telefónica, on 16/02/2015. The agreement, estimated at €140m, also covered the operation of the club's television channel, Barça TV, but the length contract has not yet been disclosed.

The operation of Barça TV has been provided by the Spanish group Mediapro communication since the creation of the channel in 1999.
