FIFA: A Swiss parliamentary committee to examine the role of international federations

The Commission of Science, Education and Culture of the Swiss National Council (which is one of the two chambers of the Federal Assembly, the supreme authority of the Swiss state) will debate, "the role of international sports organizations established Switzerland", announced the National Council on 30/06/2015.

"Several members of the Commission have criticized the insufficient progress made in the areas of the fight against corruption and transparency in the allocation of major sports events," stated the Swiss National Council.

The Commission "wants to continue to pay close attention to the question of the legal form of international sports federations", many of which -- including FIFA, UEFA and the IOC -- are established in Switzerland.
