Italy: Parma Calcio 1913, a new club launched by Guido Barilla, led by former manager Nevio Scala

"I am here with a group of friends to start a different story from all the others, a story unlike any you have ever seen. We launch with great humility and with the aim to grow and overcome obstacles in a healthy way," stated Guido Barilla (left in photo), the chairman of the agro-industrial group Barilla, announcing the launch of a new club in Parma (ITA), Parma Calcio 1913 (a reference to the year of foundation of Parma FC), on 01/07/2015.

Parma FC was declared permanently bankrupt after no takeover offer was lodged before the final deadline of 22/06/2015. Sportingly relegated to the Serie B at the end of the 2014-15 season after finishing in 20th and last place in the Serie A. Pending the finalisation of registration, Parma Calcio 1913 will launch in the Serie D (the Italian fourth division, and the first non-professional level).
