FC Barcelona: five candidates for the presidency of the club at the election on 18/07/2015

Josep Maria Bartomeu, Joan Laporta, Toni Freixa, Agustí Benedito and Joan Batiste are the five official candidates for the presidency of FC Barcelona (Liga BBVA), whose election is scheduled Saturday, 18/07/2015. The five men each received the support of at least 2,534 socios (2.3% of the electorate in 2015), the requirement for being a candidate.

Jordi Majó and Jordi Farré, who had both announced their intentions to stand in the election, did not receive the necessary amount of support.

The election to the presidency of FC Barcelona follows the term resignation of Josep Maria Bartomeu, the current president, on 09/06/2015. Josep Maria Bartomeu announced on 07/0a/2015 that the elections for president, initially scheduled for the end of the 2015-16 season, would be moved forward to the end of the 2014-15 season.
