Facebook: Barcelona and Real Madrid still lead in fans, PSG and Bayern Munich post large YoY gains

Real Madrid CF (17.4 million) and FC Barcelona (17 million) earned the most new Facebook fans between July 2014 and July 2015, according to figures collected by News Tank Football on 09/07/2015. In year-on-year Facebook gains, the two Spanish clubs are followed by Manchester United FC (13.6 million), FC Bayern Munich (13.4 million), Chelsea FC (10.9 million), respectively.

The French champions Paris Saint-Germain total 8.1 million additional Facebook fans year-on-year, for the sixth best gains in Europe. The Italian champions Juventus posted the best gains in Italy (6.2 million), and had the eighth best growth in Europe.

The ranking of the overall number of Facebook fans remains dominated by Barcelona (85.2 million) and Real Madrid (83.1 million). The Spanish clubs are followed by the English trio Manchester United (65.2 million), Chelsea (42.7 million) and Arsenal (32.9 million). FC Bayern Munich (30.5 million), with a Facebook fan growth rate of nearly 80% from July 2014 to July 2015, are now right behind Arsenal, who achieved a growth rate of 27% over the same period.
