The stadium project of AC Milan (Serie A TIM) unanimously won the tender to the Fiera Milano (Milan Fair) site for the redevelopment of the former exhibition grounds of the City of Milan, announced Barbara Berlusconi, the co-CEO of the club and daughter of Silvio Berlusconi, the owner of AC Milan, on 08/07/2015.

The club proposed an annual fee of €4.05m for 50 years to occupy the land owned by the Fondazione Fiera Milano. "Today is a historic day. Ours is primarily a cultural challenge. First of all for (the city of) Milan because we offer an urban stadium to promote the development of the area that will host it, to make it safer and a symbol of the city. It will completely change the mentality of those who go to the stadium, proposing services and moments of entertainment not only for the 90 minutes of the game," stated Barbara Berlusconi. The Fiera Milano site is located northwest of the city, close to Casa Milan, the new headquarters of the AC Milan.

The cost of the stadium of the proposed 48,000-seater is estimated at between €300m and €320m. AC Milan hope to start work in 2016…
